On May 29, 2012, Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski awarded 4 winners of the Economy Award of the President of the Republic of Poland.
The Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, which was nominated by the Polish Business Club Association, won a prize in “Innovation” category. The award was granted for recognition of Prof. Skarzynski’s outstanding achievements: development of the unique conception of the expansion of the Institute’s infrastructure, elaboration and clinical implementation of a novel surgical procedure and tools (special cochlear implant electrode) for the Partial Deafness Treatment and carrying out the world’s first surgeries with this technique in children and adults. Currently, Institute has under its care the alrgest number of patients in the world benefiting from these innovative solutions. Prof. Henryk Skarzynski received the award from the President Bronislaw Komorowski as the representative of the Institute.
The Economy Award of the President of the Republic of Poland is awarded to companies, institutions and inventors who make a significant contribution to the modernization and development of Polish economy and build its positive image in Poland and abroad. The award encourages promotion, presentation and dissemination of activities and ways leading to the achievement of economic success. It is an honorary reward.
