A citizen of an EEA (European Economic Area) Member State is entitled to free health care in the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing provided he fulfills any of the following conditions:
- is entitled to receive health care services financed from the public funds in Poland
- acquired own title for health insurance in the National Health Fund (NFZ)
- is the holder of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), (only in emergencies)
- has been reported for health insurance in the NFZ, for example by a Polish spouse
- has a certification of registration of the E 106, E 109 E 121forms in the voivodeship branch of the NFZ
- has a commercial insurance policy which entitles him to benefits under the general conditions of contract attached to the policy.
You can obtain the European Health Insurance Card by contacting your local health authority as each individual country is responsible for producing and distributing the card in its own territory. EHIZ is recognized in Poland, but covers only these medical procedures that are caused by sudden illness or a threat to patients’ health or life.
The scope and means of obtaining healthcare services in Poland may also be defined by the bilateral agreement between countries. Before visiting Poland it is recommended to check whether given country has in force such agreement with Poland .
If none of the above conditions is met, all foreign nationals are entitled to medical care on the commercial basis, subject to the price list.
