Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, MD, PhD, and Dr. Maciej Mrówka, MD, PhD, have received distinctions from the Minister of Health

On 14th October 2017, physicians who have obtained the best scores in the State Specialization Exam have received diplomas from the Minister of Health Konstanty Radziwiłł in a ceremony help in the Ministry of Health. In the group of so distinguished specialists was Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, MD, PhD, director of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing and Maciej Mrówka, MD, PhD, head of the Oto-Rhino-Laryngosurgery Clinic of the IPPH.

Prof. Henryk Skarżyński and Dr. Maciej Mrówka have finished the specialization in pediatric ORL and have passed the State Specialization Exam with the best scores in 2016.

Minister Konstanty Radziwiłł, congratulating the award-winners when presenting them with diplomas has underlined that he is convinced that the acquired knowledge and skills will allow them to accomplish their professional plans and ambitions and bring them satisfaction.

That has been a first specialization title neither for Prof. Skarżyński nor for Dr. Mrówka. Prof. Skarżyński is a specialist in otolaryngology (I degree since 1982 and II degree since 1986) as well as specialist in audiology and (II degree since 2009). Dr. Mrówka is a specialist in otorhinolaryngology (since 2005).

It is noteworthy that the State Specialization Exam ends the process of specialization training. A physician who has passed this exam received the title of specialist in a given field of medicine. State Specialization Exams are conducted by the Medical Examinations Center (CEM) – a specialized institution created by the Minister of Health to manage the procedures of verification of knowledge in the system of medical personnel training.
