Professor Henryk Skarżyński became an honorary member of the Polish-American Medical Society

In a prestigious event in Chicago, the Polish-American Medical Society bestowed a unique distinction, honorary membership to a world-renowned Polish otosurgeon, prof. Henryk Skarżyński.

Prof. Henryk Skarżyński is well-known and honored as an eminent otosurgeon and the founder and director of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing in Warsaw and the World Hearing Centre. His accomplishments in the medical field are invaluable, and the number of operations he performed has already exceeded 230,000.

However, not only the numbers show prof. H. Skarżyński’s uniqueness. He has introduced many innovative medical solutions to Poland, such as telemedicine, and has been involved in various medical care-improving projects. While accepting the distinction, prof. H. Skarżyński said: I only did and am doing what I can do best, to which I felt an inner calling. I do it all with passion and commitment. Throughout my life and work, I was guided by values such as protection of life, freedom, personal security, and dignified life. I am grateful that this has been recognized.

Prof. Henryk Skarżyński also gave a special lecture for students and young doctors entitled “Milestones in Global Science and Medicine.”

The ceremony for awarding this prestigious distinction took place in Chicago during a jubilee ball of the Polish-American Medical Society, bringing together some of the world’s most prominent Polish medics.

For prof. Henryk Skarżyński, this is a tribute to his contribution to the medical field and the values that guide his life. His accomplishments are an inspiration for many people in Poland and outside its borders.
