The Institute recognised in competition “Healthy Future – Inspirations 2023”

We learned the results of the 6th edition of the competition “Healthy Future – Inspirations 2023”: the World Hearing Centre of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing was recognized in the “Innovative hospital – management” category. Paweł Doliński, deputy director for organization and development, received the commemorative diploma. The award ceremony took place on 5 October at the National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in Warsaw.

The awarded project is called “Dissemination of cutting-edge treatment methods by training physicians at the World Hearing Center of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing in advanced surgical techniques for oto-surgery, rhinosurgery, phonosurgery, orbital surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and skull base surgery.”

The Centre for Advanced Surgical Techniques serves to develop professional competencies and qualifications of medical doctors specializing in otorhinolaryngology, audiology and phoniatrics, pediatric otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, and maxillo-facial surgery. The Centre has the equipment and facilities to diagnose hearing, voice, and speech disorders in simulated conditions without patient participation. The training includes surgical and radiological head and neck anatomy and hearing, voice, speech, and balance disorders. Simulating surgical procedures on electronic simulators, natural anatomical preparations, and models of anatomical structures is also possible.

The jury, chaired by Dr. Marek Tombarkiewicz and composed of 40 healthcare practitioners and winners of previous editions of the competition, selected the best projects. The awards were given to individuals, non-governmental organizations, companies, and hospitals that, in the past year, have made special contributions to promoting new ideas, solutions, and technologies, thereby positively impacting health, well-being, and the environment we live in.

The “Healthy Future – Inspirations 2023” awards were presented in seven main categories:

  • innovations at the hospital –medicine – innovative treatment methods
  • innovative hospital – management
  • security and reduction of adverse events, with a special consideration of nosocomial infections
  • prevention and dissemination of a healthy lifestyle
  • measures for the safety and health of workers
  • innovative solutions, products, and services improving the quality of life and health, access to services
  • health and environmental protection measures
