His Magnificence Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba, PhD, appointed Prof. Henryk Skarżyński to the Warsaw University of Technology Centre for Advanced Studies Advisory Council in the 2020-2024 term. The Council, whose members represent various scientific disciplines and carry out innovative research projects, supervises its educational offer. The Council’s role is to create an inter-faculty and inter-university cooperation system, thereby developing interdisciplinary educational and research offers accomodating modern forms of education and stimulating the research.
Prof. Henryk Skarżyński has supported the Warsaw University of Technology activities with his organizational and teaching experience for a dozen or so years. The Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, led by the Professor, started cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology in 1996. In 2009, the next cooperation agreement was signed concerning implementing technological solutions in otolaryngology, audiology, and phoniatrics. Currently, the Institute is cooperating with three faculties of the University, which gives a perfect picture of the broad range of their joint activities.
The Centre for Advanced Studies is an extra-faculty unit of the Warsaw University of Technology. The idea of establishing the Centre was conceived in 2000, together with the first offer of advanced lectures addressed to PhD students. In 2016 the Council of the Centre for Advanced Studies awarded its highest distinction, “Laus tibi, non tuleris qui vincula mente animoque” to Prof. Henryk Skarżyński. Its symbol is a Crystal Dodecahedron called Pythagorean Universe, awarded for accomplishments in building effective research space and breaking the boundaries of cognition.
