The Polymodal Sensory Perception Stimulator for Skarżyński’s method therapy (SPPS – S) and the Sensory Examination Capsule received awards at the Invention and Innovation Fairs INNOVERSE EXPO 2022, held online from 22 to 30 July 2022, in the USA by the World Intellectual Property Association WIIPA.
The Sensory Examination Capsule awarded with the Silver Medal is a project of the World Hearing Center of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, developed in cooperation with the teams of the Warsaw University of Technology, Medical University of Warsaw, Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, the Institute of Sensory Organs, MEDINCUS Hearing and Speech Center and Greenfusion Sp. z o.o. It is an integrated system of devices for diagnosis and teleconsultation of disorders of the sensory organs: hearing, vision, smell, taste, and balance enabling early diagnosis in one place.
In turn, the Polymodal Sensory Perception Stimulator for conducting therapy using the Skarżyński method (SPPS – S), successfully used for patients with auditory processing disorders, was awarded the Gold Medal. SPPS-S is a new therapy and easily accessible method of supporting patients, applicable to a wide range of disorders concurrent with auditory processing disorders. The innovative element of this method is the combination of auditory stimulation with psychological training.
All the inventions presented at INNOVERSE EXPO 2022 were evaluated in terms of their innovativeness, level of technological development, and usefulness in terms of the problem under solution or contribution to society, among others. The jurors selecting the winners also considered the development prospects of the inventions and the opportunities they offer users.
The event attracted international exhibitors from nearly 20 countries and more than 1,000 participants. It was a unique opportunity to learn about inventions and innovations from 12 categories, including electricity, ICT, nanotechnology, biotechnology, health and medicine, mechanics, robotics, and avionics.
