  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński honored with the 100th Anniversary of the Polish Olympic Committee commemorative award

    On 9 July 2020, during the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Polish Olympic Movement at the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOL) headquarters in Warsaw, Prof. Henryk Skarżyński received the commemorative award. The President of the Committee – Andrzej Kraśnicki – presented the award to Professor Skarżyński. PKOL was established in free, sovereign and independent Poland. The fact that it was

    On June 4th, 2020, an e-conference dedicated to the presentation of the “Report from the 1st “Health of Poles” 2019 Congress – summary and conclusions” was held online. The conference was hosted by Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, MD, Ph.D., dr. h.c. multi, initiator of the “Health of Poles” 2019 Congress and Jadwiga Kamińska, journalist and the President of the Journalists 

  • Thank you note from The First Lady

    On March 3rd 2020, the world Hearing Center was officially visited by First Ladies of Poland and Island.   • Obituary

    We were deeply saddened to hear about Dr. Michel Tchouamo passing. Dr. Tchouamo passed away on April 3, 2020, in Douala, Cameroon, because of COVID-19 disease. Dr. Tchouamo was a co-organizer of hearing screening tests in school-age children in Douala, conducted on November 7-10, 2017, within the project managed by prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński. Dr. Michel Tchouamo created the foundations for establishing cooperation with Laquintinie 

  • World Hearing Day 2020 in Poland

    World Hearing Day was initiated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is celebrated every year on March the 3rd to raise awareness about deafness and hearing loss, and to promote hearing prevention worldwide. The main celebrations are organized annually at the WHO headquarters in Geneva. In recent years, more and more Member States and partner agencies are joining World Hearing Day 

  • First Ladies of Poland and Iceland visit the World Hearing Center

    Official visit of Icelandic President Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson and his wife started  (3.03.2020) with a welcome ceremony at the courtyard of the Presidential Palace. Then, following a brief meeting of the Presidential Couples, Agata Kornhauser-Duda and Eliza Joan Reid went to the World Hearing Center in Kajetany. The Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing is a leading Polish research institute

    World Hearing Day, initiated by the World Health Organization (WHO), is celebrated on the 3rd March each year. This year’s edition under the slogan „Don’t let hearing loss limit you” is widespread, as it is estimated that around 466 million people worldwide are suffering from severe hearing loss, and more than 1 billion people have a variety of hearing 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński appointed to the Council of Experts for the Patient Ombudsman

    On 26th of February 2020, Minister Bartłomiej Chmielowiec appointed members of the Council of Experts at the Patient Ombudsman for the three-year term of office. Prof. Henryk Skarżyński is among over 20 experts from various fields of medicine who will support, identify challenges and solve them on an ongoing basis, advise and provide useful recommendations.   • Sensory Examination Capsule showed at the Polish Economic Exhibition entitled “From COP to Economy 4.0”

    On 16.01.2020, the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing participated in the Polish Economic Exhibition entitled “From COP to Economy 4.0”, hosted in the newly opened Wisłosan Hall in Stalowa Wola, an investment implemented by the Industrial Development Agency. The Polish Economic Exhibition is a unique exhibition undertaking, created on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński honored with the diploma by the Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk 

    His Magnificence Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk Prof. Marcin Gruchała granted the award to the co-authors of the textbook “An Outline of Otoneurology”, edited by Prof. Waldemar Narożny and Prof. Henryk Skarżyński. The two-volume textbook on otoneurology describes difficult issues regarding anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, outpatient and clinical neurological, otolaryngological, audiological and radiological diagnostics of the balance system.   • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński became a Corresponding Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences

    During the 140th session held in Warsaw on 5 December 2019, the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences selected new members of one of the most prestigious scientific collective bodies in Poland. Members of the Academy are chosen by the General Assembly from among scholars of unblemished repute who have made outstanding contributions to their fields and command 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński decorated by the Prime Minister

    On a proposal of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki awarded Prof. Henryk Skarżyński with a honorary distinction “In recognition of the contributions to innovation”. The awarding ceremony was held on 28 November 2019 at the seat of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The distinction was conferred in recognition of Professor’s singular contributions to the field of the protection

    On 16-17 October 2019, the 10th, jubilee, edition of Forum Rozwoju Mazowsza (Masovia Development Forum) took place in Warsaw. It was two days of discussions and experience sharing regarding the region’s development, with a particular focus on projects co-financed from European funds. The most ceremonial moment of the Forum was the Gala of the “Leaders of changes 2019” Competition, 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński awarded by the Szlakiem Tęczy Society

    On 5 October 2019, the Szlakiem Tęczy Society celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Cultural Centre in Nadarzyn (Nadarzyński Ośrodek Kultury). On that occasion, the donors, collaborators and, above all, the friends of the Society were presented with commemorative statuettes. The symbolic “golden heart” was awarded, among others, to Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, who was recognised for his many years of work 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński receives award for helping thousands of people suffering from hearing disorders

    On the 2nd of October 2019, Zamoyski Palace hosted Gala marking the 30th anniversary of Employers of Poland: an organisation that aims to create an employer-friendly country.  During the Gala, 30th anniversary Vectors were awarded, which went to people whose economic achievements or contribution to the development of Polish entrepreneurship over the last three decades were especially significant.   • Polish doctors from Kajetany will take care of the hearing of people living in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

    Broadly understood clinical and scientific cooperation, sharing of experience and training for doctors from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan was the subject matter of two cooperation agreements signed in August 2019 between Independent public hospital No 1 in Shymkent (Kazakhstan) and District children’s hospital in Osh (Kyrgyzstan).
