  • Official inauguration of the fourth edition of the “Health First” Programme

    The fourth edition of the “Multi-specialist year-long programme for preventing civilisation diseases and supporting Poles’ health – Health First” was officially launched, just like last year, outside the Polish Television and Polish Radio buildings. Residents of the capital city were offered advice by several dozen physicians representing various specialities. Those interested had an opportunity to consult audiologists, 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński was awarded the Promotional Emblem of the White Eagle

    On the 7th of June 2019, the residence of Stanisław Leszczyński, who twice ruled as the king of Poland, in 1704–1709 and in 1733–1736, hosted the finale of the 7th edition of the Promotional Emblem of the White Eagle Foundation (Fundacja Orła Białego).   • Warsaw as the international capital city of otology

    Almost 1000 scientists, otolaryngologists, audiologists, phoniatrists, as well as clinical engineers from all over the world will participate in the 32nd Politer Society Meeting and the 2nd World Congress of Otology that will be held in Warsaw and Kajetany. Consequently, from 28 May to 1 June 2019, Poland will become the international capital city of otology – a field of medicine that 

  • Important recognition for prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński

    On 24 May 2019 in Lisbon, Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński, deputy head of the Department of Teleaudilogy and Screening Tests of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing was elected as an auditor of the European Federation of Audiology Societies (EFAS).  Meanwhile in recognition of his achievements in Poland, on 4 June 2019 he was awarded the title of Supertalent in Medicine 2019. 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński was re-elected as a member of the Main Council of the Research Institutes

    On 27–28 May 2019, the 28th Reporting and Electoral Forum of the Research Institutes took place. A total of 112 electors selected by the scientific councils of research institutes as well as guests participated in the debates. On the first day of the meeting, discharge was granted to the Council for the past 3-year term of office, and a new Main Council and Audit 

  • 14th global videoconference LION Global Otology – Neurotology Live Surgical Broadcast in the World Hearing Center

    The annual global LION videoconference: Global Otology – Neurotology Live Surgical Broadcast is due to take place on 13-14 May 2019. During such conferences, organised for 14 years now, the best surgeons from otosurgery centers all over the world are invited to give “live” demonstrations of advanced otosurgery and neuro-otosurgery techniques.   • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński appointed Honorary Ambassador of the Podlaskie Voivodeship

    On 7 May 2019, during a grand gala at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the audience was presented with the names of new laureates of this year’s Podlachia Brand.   • Third International Congress of Patient Empowerment

    On 24-25 April 2019, the 3rd International Congress of Patient Empowerment took place at the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw. During the congress, Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, the director of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing and the National Otolaryngology Consultant, discussed the role of local government in the Polish health care system and in patient education.     On April 17, 2019, the Senate of the Maria Grzegorzewska University has appointed Prof. Henryk Skarżyński to become the head of the first University Board Pursuant to the provisions of the Higher Education and Science Law, the election was carried out by means of a secret ballot with the requirement of absolute majority and attendance of at least one half of the 

  • Professor Henryk Skarzynski will be a special guest during a seminar „On health of the Sadeckie population – from oncology to hearing loss”

    Oncology, social security and hearing were the leading topics of a seminar titled “On health of the Sadeckie population”, which took place on March 28, 2019 at the Malopolska Cultural Center “Sokol” in Nowy Sacz.  Professor Henryk Skarzynski was a special guest at the seminar and gave a lecture “Population studies among school children as basis for universal disease prevention”.     The European Academy of Sciences and Arts is a non-governmental non-profit association dedicated to promotion of scientific and social progress.     March 3rd marks the celebration of the World Hearing Day as declared by the World Health Organization. Several months ago, in July 2018, the third global meeting on the program for the prevention and treatment of hearing loss was held at the WHO headquarters in Geneva.   • International Cochlear Implant Day

    February 25th marks the International Cochlear Implant Day and the 62th anniversary of world’s first implantation of a cochlear implant. In Poland, the first surgery making use of this technique to restore hearing in a deaf patient was performed on July 16th, 1992 by Prof. Henryk Skarżyński. On the next day, a surgery was performed to implant a cochlear device in a deaf pediatric patient; this was also the

    On February the 18th 2019 at Polonia Palace hotel in Warsaw a ceremonial Gala was held during which the results of LIST OF 100 2018 plebiscite were announced.
