  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński honored with the diploma by the Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk 

    His Magnificence Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk Prof. Marcin Gruchała granted the award to the co-authors of the textbook “An Outline of Otoneurology”, edited by Prof. Waldemar Narożny and Prof. Henryk Skarżyński. The two-volume textbook on otoneurology describes difficult issues regarding anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, outpatient and clinical neurological, otolaryngological, audiological and radiological diagnostics of the balance system.   • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński became a Corresponding Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences

    During the 140th session held in Warsaw on 5 December 2019, the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences selected new members of one of the most prestigious scientific collective bodies in Poland. Members of the Academy are chosen by the General Assembly from among scholars of unblemished repute who have made outstanding contributions to their fields and command 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński decorated by the Prime Minister

    On a proposal of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki awarded Prof. Henryk Skarżyński with a honorary distinction “In recognition of the contributions to innovation”. The awarding ceremony was held on 28 November 2019 at the seat of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The distinction was conferred in recognition of Professor’s singular contributions to the field of the protection 

  • 10th Masovia Development Forum with the participation of Prof. Henryk Skarżyński

    On 16-17 October 2019, the 10th, jubilee, edition of Forum Rozwoju Mazowsza (Masovia Development Forum) took place in Warsaw. It was two days of discussions and experience sharing regarding the region’s development, with a particular focus on projects co-financed from European funds. The most ceremonial moment of the Forum was the Gala of the “Leaders of changes 2019” Competition, 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński awarded by the Szlakiem Tęczy Society

    On 5 October 2019, the Szlakiem Tęczy Society celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Cultural Centre in Nadarzyn (Nadarzyński Ośrodek Kultury). On that occasion, the donors, collaborators and, above all, the friends of the Society were presented with commemorative statuettes. The symbolic “golden heart” was awarded, among others, to Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, who was recognised for his many years of work 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński receives award for helping thousands of people suffering from hearing disorders

    On the 2nd of October 2019, Zamoyski Palace hosted Gala marking the 30th anniversary of Employers of Poland: an organisation that aims to create an employer-friendly country.  During the Gala, 30th anniversary Vectors were awarded, which went to people whose economic achievements or contribution to the development of Polish entrepreneurship over the last three decades were especially significant.     European Research and Innovation Days, i.e. annual meetings of world leaders and decision makers in various areas of industry, science and business, held this year in Brussels, were graced with performances given by musically talented patients of Prof. Henryk Skarżyński and winners of the International Festival of Children, Youth and Adults with Hearing Disorders – “Beats of Cochlea”.   • Polish doctors from Kajetany will take care of the hearing of people living in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

    Broadly understood clinical and scientific cooperation, sharing of experience and training for doctors from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan was the subject matter of two cooperation agreements signed in August 2019 between Independent public hospital No 1 in Shymkent (Kazakhstan) and District children’s hospital in Osh (Kyrgyzstan). The initiator and coordinator of both these agreements is Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, director of the 

  • In duet for anniversary

    “For years we have been able to observe the Institute’s patients for whom music provided invaluable support during rehabilitation. These observations motivated me to organize the International Music Festival for Children, Youths and Adults with Hearing Disorders “Beats of Cochlea,” recalled Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, the initiator of this event. This year we celebrated the fifth anniversary edition of this unique festival 

  • Official inauguration of the fourth edition of the “Health First” Programme

    The fourth edition of the “Multi-specialist year-long programme for preventing civilisation diseases and supporting Poles’ health – Health First” was officially launched, just like last year, outside the Polish Television and Polish Radio buildings. Residents of the capital city were offered advice by several dozen physicians representing various specialities. Those interested had an opportunity to consult audiologists, 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński was awarded the Promotional Emblem of the White Eagle

    On the 7th of June 2019, the residence of Stanisław Leszczyński, who twice ruled as the king of Poland, in 1704–1709 and in 1733–1736, hosted the finale of the 7th edition of the Promotional Emblem of the White Eagle Foundation (Fundacja Orła Białego). Opening the grand gala, Prof. Jan Ludwiczak greeted the guests from Poland and abroad, stressing that the 

  • Warsaw as the international capital city of otology

    Almost 1000 scientists, otolaryngologists, audiologists, phoniatrists, as well as clinical engineers from all over the world will participate in the 32nd Politer Society Meeting and the 2nd World Congress of Otology that will be held in Warsaw and Kajetany. Consequently, from 28 May to 1 June 2019, Poland will become the international capital city of otology – a field of medicine that 

  • Important recognition for prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński

    On 24 May 2019 in Lisbon, Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński, deputy head of the Department of Teleaudilogy and Screening Tests of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing was elected as an auditor of the European Federation of Audiology Societies (EFAS).  Meanwhile in recognition of his achievements in Poland, on 4 June 2019 he was awarded the title of Supertalent in Medicine 2019. 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński was re-elected as a member of the Main Council of the Research Institutes

    On 27–28 May 2019, the 28th Reporting and Electoral Forum of the Research Institutes took place. A total of 112 electors selected by the scientific councils of research institutes as well as guests participated in the debates. On the first day of the meeting, discharge was granted to the Council for the past 3-year term of office, and a new Main Council and Audit 

  • 14th global videoconference LION Global Otology – Neurotology Live Surgical Broadcast in the World Hearing Center

    The annual global LION videoconference: Global Otology – Neurotology Live Surgical Broadcast is due to take place on 13-14 May 2019. During such conferences, organised for 14 years now, the best surgeons from otosurgery centers all over the world are invited to give “live” demonstrations of advanced otosurgery and neuro-otosurgery techniques. There will be 32 centers participating in this year’s 

  • Prof. Henryk Skarżyński appointed Honorary Ambassador of the Podlaskie Voivodeship

    On 7 May 2019, during a grand gala at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the audience was presented with the names of new laureates of this year’s Podlachia Brand. This year, almost 300 candidates in seven thematic categories have been entered into the competition, which has been organised by Podlaskie Voivodeship marshal for 15 years.
